Here are
some of the projects/services that we are currently involved with:
Speakers’ Bureau - we maintain a list of speakers willing to
present talks on Washington Native Plant topics to outside groups- i.e.
garden clubs, community organizations, etc. In support of these
talks, we maintain resource materials for speakers to use
including prepared talks with PowerPoint slides on portable media.
These binders can be checked out by contacting the committee chair at
the above address.
Native Plant Resource Boxes for Educators - we are in the process of producing resource kits that can be used by
educators to conduct native plant lessons in various education settings-
i.e. schools, parks, camps. They will be available to check-out in the
near future. [PDF]

Online Educational Materials
- A catalog on PlantSteward.com lists educational
presentations, brochures, bulletins, worksheets, and native plant lists
that can be freely downloaded from that site. These materials provide
educational snapshots as well as some full length presentations of
various native plant related topics. The brochures and bulletin are
suitable for handouts at environmental events and several of the
presentations have speaker notes to enhance their usability.
Native Tree Lesson Plan - we are working to develop a lesson plan that can be used by educators
which uses Native Trees as a model for multi-disciplinary learning
objectives.
“Plant of the Month” -
a feature at each chapter meeting devoted to learning about a particular
plant or genus. Have an idea, suggestion or a plan for this segment?
