Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge
Ridgefield, Washington

Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is located in Ridgefield, WA (about 30 minutes north of Portland). We could really use your help pulling ricefield bulrush (Scirpus mucronatus) which was accidentally introduced onto the refuge during habitat restoration projects in the 1990s. Since the scirpus occurs in "off limits" areas, volunteers are invited to experience wetland habitats while participating in 'on the ground conservation.' For more information, call the refuge office at 360.887.4106 or email Elena Perez-Lizano Volunteer Coordinator and Americorps Member at: Elena_Perez@fws.gov .
